Mirendil: who founded it, who funds it

Mirendil is a San Francisco self-improving AI lab founded in 2026 by Behnam Neyshabur, Harsh Mehta, Shayan Salehian and Tara Rezaei, who came from Anthropic, xAI and MIT. What it is building: self-improving AI for scientific R&D: a system that builds systems, sold as a research platform to outside organisations. It has raised $200M in disclosed rounds, most recently a Seed of $200M at a $1B valuation in June 2026, led by Andreessen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins. It has not released anything outsiders can use yet.
